Services & Pricing
Q: How much does it cost to have you do everything vs. me doing some of the work?
A: Full-service projects (Therese does everything) typically start at $6,000-$8,500 depending on scope. If you want to handle some tasks yourself, like gathering content, providing images, or doing basic updates, investment can be reduced by 20-30%.
The trade-off: You save money but projects take longer because you’re involved in execution. Most Charleston businesses prefer full-service because it’s faster and they can focus on running their business instead of learning web design. Projects typically complete in 2-3 weeks with full-service, versus 6-8 weeks when clients handle portions themselves
Q: How long does it take to complete my project?
A: Most website projects: 2-3 weeks from start to launch. AI optimization projects: 2-3 weeks. Social media setup: 1-2 weeks, then ongoing monthly.
Timeline depends on how quickly you can provide feedback and approvals. If you respond within 24 hours, projects stay on track. If you take a week to review, projects take longer.
Q: I can get a website for $500 on Fiverr – why would I pay you more?
A: You’re not paying for a website. You’re paying for strategy, positioning, and results.
A $500 Fiverr site will look okay but won’t generate leads. It won’t show up in AI search. It won’t convert visitors to clients. It’s a template with your logo slapped on it.
TaG Makes builds websites that are strategically positioned to attract your ideal clients, optimized to show up in AI search, and designed to convert visitors into paying customers. Plus, you get someone in Charleston who understands your market and is available when you need support.
If you just need something cheap and fast, Fiverr is fine. If you want a website that makes you money, that’s different.
Q: Can you just fix a few things on my current website instead of rebuilding it?
A: Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on what’s broken.
If your site is on WordPress and just needs content updates or minor tweaks, absolutely. Fixes are usually $500-$1,500.
If your site is on a platform like Wix, Squarespace, or Gamma and you need AI optimization, you’ll need a rebuild. Those platforms don’t allow the technical changes needed for AI visibility.
Schedule a discovery call and Therese will tell you honestly whether fixes or rebuild makes more sense.
How do I know it actually works?
II tested this methodology on my own business first. My site had technical issues that made it invisible for 6 months – no SSL certificate, wrong URL configuration, single-page structure. I rebuilt it using AI optimization principles in 2 weeks. The site is now properly configured and being indexed by Google. I don’t sell theory – I sell what I proved works on my own business.
Q: What do you need from me, and how often will we talk?
A: What you provide:
- Access to current website/accounts
- Content (or approval for Therese to write it)
- Your branding (logo, colors, photos)
- Feedback on drafts and designs
Communication:
- Kickoff call: 30-60 minutes to align on strategy
- Weekly check-ins: 15-30 minutes to review progress
- Final review: 30 minutes before launch
- As-needed emails for quick questions
Most clients spend 2-3 hours total on a project over 2-3 weeks.
AI Optimization & Technology
Q: What’s the difference between AI optimization and SEO? Do they both work with Google?
A: SEO (Search Engine Optimization) = Making your site rank well in Google search results. Focuses on keywords, backlinks, page speed, meta descriptions.
AI Optimization = Making your site visible when people search using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. TaG Makes Focuses on natural language content, structured data, credibility signals, and question-answer format.
Key difference: Google shows you 10 options. AI gives you 1-3 specific recommendations.
You need BOTH. Good news: Therese optimizes for both simultaneously. When your site is AI-optimized, it typically improves Google rankings too.
Q: I don’t like AI at all – I just want more people to find my business.
A: That’s fair. You don’t have to love AI to benefit from AI optimization.
Here’s the reality: 40% of searches now happen in AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and now Comet). That number grows every month. Younger generations barely use Google for local searches anymore.
So even if you personally hate AI, your potential clients are using it to find businesses. If you’re not visible there, you’re losing leads to competitors.
Think of it like this: You might not love social media, but if that’s where your clients are, you show up there. Same concept…
Q: Do you offer training to teach me how to manage things myself?
A: Yes. Every project includes training on:
- How to update website content
- How to add new pages or blog posts
- How to manage your contact forms
- Basic troubleshooting
Training can be recorded so you can rewatch anytime. Plus, Therese is available via email for quick questions after launch.
If you want ongoing support (monthly updates, technical help, content writing), that’s available as an optional retainer starting at $400/month.
